From the vast plains of the Masai Mara in Kenya to the towering dunes of Namibia and the mountain gorillas of Rwanda, every destination offers something completely different. Road trip along South Africa's breathtaking Garden Route, from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth, experience the incredible wildlife of Ngororo Crater or the Serengeti in Tanzania, discover why Uganda is known as the Pearl of Africa, and stand in awe at the thunderous power of Victoria Falls.

Each place has its own story, its own rhythm, and its own reason to fall in love with Africa. I hope these pages inspire you to explore this remarkable continent with curiosity, respect, and a spirit of adventure.

Although roughly 70% of Botswana is covered by the semi-arid Kalahari Desert, the northern region is a massive delta oasis featuring the spectacular Okavango Delta, (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Chobe National Park, which hosts the world's largest elephant population. One of easiest ways to get from point A to B in Africa, we discovered much to our delight, was to take a safari. For little more than arranging simple overland transportation from Zambia to Botswana we purchased a day safari in Chobe which included the van to get us from one country to the other, a boat safari on the Chobe River, and a guided jeep tour in the park. It was excellent and all arranged through our accommodation at Jollyboys Backpackers.
